Robert Seven Crows Bourdon and JoAn Pawnee Parent are both of mixed blood heritage. They are both members of the Kumik Elders Lodge at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and work as elders with First Nations men at La Macaza federal institution in La Macaza Quebec. As Elders, at La Macaza institution, they manage the Pathways project which is a federally funded prison project that brings First Nations men back to their traditional and spiritual culture. Robert and JoAn are keepers of the Turtle Sweat Lodge which they share in the prison system and in communities when asked.
